Expert Walk - on the way to the perfect connection solution

How can it be easier and thus also more cost-effective? Which C-parts should I replace with better alternatives or can I save, as well as which work steps?

In short: where is there potential for optimization, especially with connection elements, that has a positive effect on production efficiency and production costs?

These are the questions that drive our colleague Kay Brenning when, during the Expert Walk through a customer's production facility, he not only looks closely and analyzes, but also shows solutions.

Production line analysis and value analysis

Our new engineering service is not an “off-the-peg” service, our Business Development Manager Kay goes into production on site - and, together with those responsible for production, takes a close look at every single step and every single connecting part.

"Sometimes it's just a small thing that has a significant impact on production costs, e.g. replacing a connector, which reduces the number of parts required. Then there are more in-depth suggestions for the assembly processes that immensely increase the quality, safety and cost-effectiveness of production in almost all industries. "

At the beginning of our Expert Walk there is a systematic analysis of the entire production line on site.

Kay Brenning or his engineering colleagues pay particular attention to the connecting elements, the assembly processes and the tools.

This is followed by a value analysis in which the cost savings are shown on the basis of the TCO (“Total Cost of Ownership”) principle.

A decisive advantage that our customers use is the expertise of experienced connection technology specialists in combination with the broad and deep product portfolio of a technical trading company that is not tied to one product and can offer the most suitable individual solution.

In fact, an unnecessary variety of parts and irregular processes cause around 85 percent of hidden costs in production.

This is exactly what our Expert Walk focuses on.

 

The advantages at a glance:

  • Reduce costs through an application-adapted connector, reduce the variety of parts, increase the degree of automation or replace the joining processes of welding, screwing and gluing, for example, with economical blind riveting and press-in technology.

  • Simplify the assembly process through ergonomic assembly workstations, among other things.

  • Increase productivity by means of semi-automated assembly or full automation, among other things.

  • Reduce the scrap rate by avoiding construction errors such as air gaps, material damage or incorrect installation.

  • Reduce the number of malfunctions through suitable tools and the use of process control with e.g. counting functions, force-displacement monitoring.

 

The result: The perfect connection solution that also optimizes the product in production and consequently improves the total cost of ownership.
